Most people think of space travel and moon landings when they think of Omega watches… and rightly so, but Omega has a long and successful sporting history too.

In 1932 at the Los Angeles Olympics, Omega was chosen as official timekeeper for all disciplines.

So began a long partnership between Omega and the Olympic movement, resulting in Omega actually being awarded the Olympic Cross of Merit for its ‘exceptional services to the world of sport’ in 1952.

In 2008, Omega made a special Olympic watch with its logo on the second hand.
But what if (like me), your only experience of running, is a quick jog for the bus on a Monday morning?

Omega watches are NOT just for serious sports people and astronauts!
Most people though, would be put off by the hefty price tag of an authentic version, but what about replica Omega watches?

Almost impossible to distinguish from the real thing, they’re just a small fraction of the cost of the originals.

In 2012, the Olympic Games will be held in London, and it will be a particularly special Olympics for Omega, as they’ll be celebrating the 25th time that they have been official timekeepers.
It’ll also be the 80th anniversary of their very first Olympic games.

Two big milestones for them, at the same games.
Omega watches come in a huge range of finishes and styles, for both men and women, and range names include Constellation, Seamaster, Speedmaster, and Deville.

They’re all true luxury items, but that comes with true luxury prices!
If you can’t quite afford them though, there’s always that option of replica Omega watches.
A touch of elegance and luxury, but with a MUCH smaller price tag.
